H
is for Hope from Heav’n,
A precious strength so near,
Which fills God’s waiting children,
Who know that He is here.
He is the One who comforts;
In weakness will forbear.
He is our Precious Jesus,
Who listens to each care.
Oh, cast down soul, take comfort--
God’s hope sustaineth thee!
This hope brings Heaven nearer,
Because of Calvary.
Though path be dark and dim now,
An everlasting light
From God, the soul’s own beacon,
Shines through this world of night.
Praise offer to Jehovah,
Who makes felt darkness flee.
He is the Hope of every soul;
Draw near to Him and see!
Thy carking soul He’ll silence
From care and bonds of fear;
His praise will fill your spirit
As to Him you draw near.
Look on this precious Jesus;
Behold His matchless face,
Take His own Word as thy best food,
Press onward in the race.
This hope shall fill thy heart, then,
With joyful chords anew,
Cast off thy dismal dirges
And find His hymn for you!
"Now the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Romans 15:13
