D’s for Divine deliv'rance
From sin's dread misery
That shatters cords of bondage
And sets poor captives free.
Release from snares of Satan,
The curse of death and hell,
Freeing and full redemption—
That makes the soul all well.
The sound of chains unshackled,
The song of slaves set free,
Oh, joy in full deliv'rance,
Because of Calvary!
Transgression's yoke has broken:
Christ's captives but reside—
In this Lord our Redeemer,
True freedom e’er abides!
The God of truth delivers;
His Word doth set us free;
Taste this divine redemption—
Until eternity!
