J is for Joy from Jesus,
A river from above,
That dominates the landscape
Of hearts made pure by love.
An ever-present fountain
Cascading through each day,
Renewing with Christ’s fullness
Those on the narrow way.
Divine, transcendent fragrance
That permeates each hour;
This oil of joy abiding--
Invisible, yet ours.
Such is the joy from Jesus,
Aiding His dear ones’ song:
‘Tis grace from Heaven’s riches,
Which giveth on and on!
This everlasting jewel
Shall never fade away,
But ever lives in Heaven,
Where we shall meet someday.
Our tears thus sanctified here,
Offered in praises sweet,
In golden crowns we’ll cast then
At Christ, our Savior’s feet.
Behold this glorious joy now
As you walk here below;
Let Jesus be your gladness—
Delights on you bestow!
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
and come to Zion with songs
and everlasting joy upon their heads:
they shall obtain joy and gladness,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away" --Isaiah 35:10.
