L is for lovingkindness sweet
God shows to me each day.
His ever-present goodness meets
Believers on life’s way.
All things He offers from His hands,
With sweetest mercies blest—
His way is perfect loveliness,
Wherein I find His rest.
Better than life itself—this love—
That colors every hour
Better than any harsh word’s sting:
His kindness is a flower.
His lovingkindness, tender, true
Fills life itself with praise
No matter what the trial then,
I’ll find Him in life’s maze.
His praise I’ll sing to endless days
Even ‘midst dark despair;
His lovingkindness helps me know—
That He, my God, is there.
