Note: It's Spring 2022. I began writing my Alphabet of Praise some time ago and finished it in the throes of Covid, the summer of 2020. God has directed us to a place with different scenery, different people, and different situations. And yet, though geographically separated from many family members and dear friends, I am so grateful that, while life about us may change, our precious Lord never does.
In fact, the Lord becomes ever dearer as, removed from many we cherish, we realize there is nothing more precious than this heavenly relationship. I am so grateful to know Him. Do you know Him, too?
Y is for Yesterday—
Always the same.
Past, present, and future—
Christ’s nature’s unchanged!
Assured is tomorrow:
Already, He’s there.
Earth’s kingdoms will crumble,
Christ remains most fair!
Unchanged in His beauty,
Our Shepherd each day
Leads to verdant pastures,
Restoring our way.
Beside quiet waters
He makes us to drink
To feast on His treasures
And truth-thoughts to think.
His words, ever gracious,
His counsel, all-wise—
These never shall fail us
Christ Jesus, then, prize!
Look ever to Jesus,
Example and Friend;
His Kingdom victorious
Shall never have end.
The I Am today
And of yesterdays past,
Our Lord never fails us.
Christ ever shall last!
Heb. 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
