Z is for Zeal of the Lord of Hosts
The God of armies, all power He boasts.
Uniquely Jehovah, the only God, He
All wisdom, all glory for eternity.
Why trust then in riches?
Why seek after fame?
Why live for this world’s goods?
Jealous is God’s name.
He longs for your worship,
Your heart, and your love.
He longs now to fill you
With grace from above.
Put nought else before Him;
He will fill you now.
Himself to you offers;
In His presence bow.
Zealous for your worship,
He lives as Your King;
In thought, word, and action—
All zeal to Him bring!
Is. 9:7, “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end . . .
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
